    It is always so hilarious when treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans try to fall back on the Democrats from more than two hundred years ago or even 60 years ago as if that could possibly have any bearing on what is happening right now. The reality is today it is the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans who are the overt and proud racists trying to erase the history of slavery and truing to return to Jim Crow.

    That is the reality of today and the past has no bearing on that.





    And raping slaves and forcing them to give birth to the master's children was very profitable. The got the sex and could force the slaves to perform any sex act they wanted. And then when they got pregnant they could sell off the children.

    Thanks for the history lesson, but it’s fairly obvious how much both parties have changed a lot over the past couple of centuries.
    Can you explain how THOSE Republicans were so committed to ending slavery while TODAY’S Republicans want to present slavery (and TEACH it to children!) as having been beneficial to the slaves?? Why would the Republican Party want to put a stop to something that gave the slaves the skills that would so greatly contribute to their success?
    Slavery: which Republicans wore it best?

      @aesopstails You know when a person goes to prison here in the US, that person can get a high school and or college education. They can learn trade skills and a list of other courses that are offered.

      Just because a person's freedom has been limited, does not mean they can not be educated and learn new skills.

      @aesopstails Perhaps you have seen it goes far beyond just trying to erase and whitewash slavery. Florida schools also now have little cartoons to show students saying not only slavery wasn't so bad actually the whole world practiced slavery. But they neglect to admit most the civilized world outlawed slavery while the south went to war to protect their profitable slave industry.

      It is the living and breathing kind of indoctrination in practice they falsely accuse the left of.
